Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in Newark, NJ

This full-time leave position is designed for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) who thrives in dynamic school settings. Working across elementary, middle, and high school levels, you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of diverse learners near Newark, NJ.
Your week will be spent engaging primarily with middle schoolers, including those in self-contained LLD (Language and Learning Disabilities) and AU (Autism) classrooms, while also serving elementary and high school students with a range of speech-only and special education eligibility needs. The schedule follows typical school hours: elementary (8:45am–3:00pm), middle (8:30am–2:50pm), and high school (8:05am–3:00pm). Approximately a day and a half will be dedicated to elementary students, with the remainder focused on the middle school caseload.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- State licensure or eligibility as required for NJ school SLPs
- Previous experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations
- Familiarity with IEP planning, implementation, and documentation
- Flexible, communicative, and collaborative approach to interdisciplinary teamwork
Role Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on student IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and special education staff to maximize student progress
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes
- Offer support to students in both general education and self-contained classroom settings
