A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in New Paltz, NY, serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade, with a primary focus on elementary levels. This contract position runs from September 2025 through June 2026, providing a consistent schedule aligned with the academic calendar.
In this role, you will manage a caseload of approximately 35 students at a single location. Your responsibilities include conducting comprehensive speech and language assessments, developing individualized therapy plans, and delivering direct therapy services tailored to each student’s unique needs. Collaboration is key, as you will work alongside educators and school staff to implement appropriate accommodations, monitor student progress, and adjust interventions as necessary. Active participation in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings is essential, contributing to goal setting and advocating for student success. Additionally, you will provide guidance and resources to families to support continuity of care beyond the school setting.
Qualifications for this position include a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a valid state license or eligibility to obtain one. Experience working with school-aged children is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude. Familiarity with IEP processes and educational laws will support your effectiveness in the role.
