Step into a rewarding opportunity as a contract speech-language pathologist supporting a vibrant elementary school community near New Orleans, LA! This onsite position covers a maternity leave from September 14th through the return following Thanksgiving break on November 30th, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact over the course of the fall semester.
You’ll work full-time, 37.5 hours per week, at a local elementary school, managing a caseload of 50-60 students. Your expertise will help shape the communication skills and academic growth of diverse learners in a dynamic educational setting. Clinical fellows will be considered, making this an excellent choice for recent graduates seeking hands-on experience in a supportive school environment.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current or eligible for SLP-CCC or Clinical Fellow (CF) status
- Experience in a school-based setting preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Commitment to fostering positive student outcomes
- Active Louisiana SLP license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative speech-language services for elementary students
- Evaluate, diagnose, and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to support each student’s unique needs
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development as needed
