Desired Skills and Credentials:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Active Illinois state licensure or eligibility for licensure
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- Experience or strong interest in school-based SLP services
- Skilled at developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration abilities
- Compassionate approach with students from diverse backgrounds
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide therapy to students with speech, language, and communication disorders across all grade levels (K-12)
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs
- Conduct screenings, comprehensive evaluations, and progress assessments
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to optimize outcomes
- Maintain documentation and meet compliance standards for school and district requirements
- Engage in IEP meetings and deliver effective progress reports
- Mentor peers and provide guidance to those in CFY as applicable
