Speech and Language Pathologist in Middletown, DE
A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Clinical Fellow Year (CFY) professional is needed to support a special education setting focused on Autism and mid to low functioning students. This full-time, onsite role is located in Middletown, Delaware, with a concurrent position available in Dover, Delaware. The opportunity spans from immediate start dates with an extended summer program through the 2026-2027 school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language services primarily to students in Pre-K and elementary grades, with caseloads including individuals up to 22 years old.
- Deliver individualized therapy plans tailored to meet the unique needs of students with Autism and varying communication challenges.
- Collaborate closely with special education staff and families to support each student's development.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with education regulations and guidelines.
- Participate actively in team meetings and advocate for students’ speech and language goals throughout the academic year and extended school year.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for Speech-Language Pathologist or current CFY status.
- Experience working with pediatric populations, especially in special education environments.
- Familiarity with Autism spectrum disorders and strategies to support mid to low functioning students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Location: Middletown, DE (with opportunities also in Dover, DE)
