Step into a school-based speech-language pathologist opportunity focused on supporting students’ communication development during a maternity leave coverage. You’ll provide essential SLP services onsite at an elementary setting, collaborating closely with educators and families to enhance students’ learning experiences.
This full-time contract role runs from September 14th through November 30th, aligning with the school calendar. You’ll manage a caseload of approximately 50–60 students, delivering evidence-based services and contributing to a positive, encouraging environment.
Key qualifications and experience desired:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), or eligibility as a Clinical Fellow (CFs strongly considered)
- Active state licensure for speech pathology
- Previous school-based SLP experience preferred (but motivated new graduates are welcomed)
- Well-versed in IEP development, speech/language assessments, and therapy documentation
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to culturally responsive practices
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive speech/language screenings and diagnostic assessments
- Developing and updating IEPs in collaboration with the educational team
- Delivering direct and consultative speech therapy in both individual and group settings
- Maintaining organized documentation and progress reports
- Communicating regularly with parents, teachers, and staff regarding student progress
- Participating in IEP meetings and student support teams onsite
