Make a significant impact supporting K-12 students as an onsite Speech Language Pathologist in the Lapeer, Grand Blanc, Lansing, or Detroit regions. We're seeking up to two dedicated professionals for contract assignments beginning August 17 and continuing through June 11. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- SLP-CCC preferred; SLPs with ongoing or completed CFY also considered
- Eligible for (or pending) Michigan state licensure; proof of completed application and pending status required if not currently licensed
- Must submit official university transcripts prior to consideration
- Previous experience or a strong understanding of the challenges and resources relevant to urban youth and their families
- Comfort and confidence working onsite in school environments
- Willingness to travel between buildings within the district as needed
- Flint assignments highly value applicants with an already established supervisor
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct one-on-one and group speech and language therapy to K-12 students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student needs
- Set individualized goals and actively participate in IEP/MET meetings
- Keep thorough documentation to comply with all guidelines
- Conduct thorough assessments and write evaluative reports for suspected cases
- Provide staff professional development and in-service training
- Support implementation of AAC systems for students as needed
- Manage and organize therapy materials and equipment
