Make an immediate impact supporting K-12 students as a contract Speech Language Pathologist working onsite across several Michigan regions, including Grand Blanc, Lansing, Detroit, and surrounding areas. These positions offer an opportunity to provide vital therapy to a diverse student population while collaborating with educators and families to promote academic and social success. Candidates with their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) will be considered, with preference for those who can demonstrate effective supervision or already have a supervisor in place.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid or pending Michigan SLP license (proof of application/pending status required)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; will consider CFY applicants
- Comfortable providing services onsite at school locations
- Ability to obtain and present official university transcripts before district submission
- Experience working with K-12 students, ideally with some insight into the needs and struggles of children in urban settings
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group speech-language therapy tailored to students’ unique needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to embed speech-language strategies into classroom routines
- Draft and monitor annual goals and IEP objectives; participate actively in IEP and MET meetings
- Complete evaluations, write clear reports, and maintain up-to-date records in compliance with all regulations
- Travel between school sites to provide comprehensive services
- Provide in-service training for school staff on language development and supportive practices
- Assist students with AAC systems, including relevant training for both school and home use
- Manage therapy equipment, materials, and documentation for effective service delivery
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
