An exciting contract opportunity is available for a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist eager to work in a vibrant school setting near Kenner, LA. This role supports elementary students onsite, helping them achieve their communication goals in a collaborative, educational environment. With a start date as soon as possible and coverage through the end of November (following the Thanksgiving break), this position offers an engaging and rewarding experience for both seasoned clinicians and newer professionals such as Clinical Fellows and SLPAs.
Preferred qualifications and background:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Louisiana
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), or Clinical Fellowship applicants considered
- School-based experience preferred but not required
- Comfortable managing a diverse elementary caseload (approximately 50-60 students)
- Adaptable, positive, and collaborative approach to working with children, families, and educators
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to elementary students
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Conduct assessments and maintain accurate, timely records of student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student success
- Provide support and direction to SLPAs and contribute to a dynamic speech team
