Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Kenner, LA

Step into a rewarding school-based opportunity this fall, working as a Speech-Language Pathologist supporting elementary students during a maternity leave coverage. Located near the vibrant area of Kenner, LA, this contract position begins September 14th and wraps up after Thanksgiving, on November 30th. You’ll provide full-time onsite services over 37.5 hours per week at an elementary setting, carrying a caseload of 50-60 eager learners, and collaborate with dedicated educators and student services teams. Candidates holding their CCC or are Clinical Fellows are both encouraged to apply—the district values fresh perspectives and experienced voices alike.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Louisiana licensure for SLP or eligibility to obtain
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred, though strong Clinical Fellows are welcome
- Previous school-based SLP experience advantageous
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver evaluation and therapy services to students with diverse speech and language needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to support student academic and social success
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and families
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports following district and regulatory guidelines
- Participate in student support meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
