Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in Jersey City, NJ
Make a real impact as a Speech-Language Pathologist supporting students across all grade levels, from elementary through high school, in a vibrant school community near Jersey City, NJ. This full-time, contract position is for a leave coverage from September through October—making it the perfect opportunity to make a difference in students' lives while gaining valuable school-based experience.
In this dynamic role, you will work five days a week with a diverse caseload. The majority of your time will be spent with middle schoolers, including some students enrolled in self-contained Language Learning Disabled (LLD) and Autism (AU) programs. Elementary students, about 15 in total, will make up roughly a day and a half of your schedule each week. You’ll serve students with needs ranging from speech-only therapy to those eligible for special education, collaborating with a supportive team of educators.
Qualifications & Preferred Background:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active CCC-SLP certification
- Experience working with pediatric and school-aged populations
- Familiarity with diverse student needs, including special education eligibility
- Ability to manage a varied caseload across elementary, middle, and high school levels
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy to students in both general and special education settings
- Assess, evaluate, and document students' progress and needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student growth
- Adapt therapy plans to meet individual student goals
- Flexibility in managing schedules between elementary, middle, and high school buildings
