Skilled Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) are invited to take on rewarding long-term substitute roles in a reputable school district near Hyattsville, MD. These contract opportunities serve a diverse range of elementary school caseloads, allowing you to impart meaningful support to students while collaborating with dedicated educational teams. Immediate openings are available across multiple locations, including general education environments, regional programs, and early childhood settings.
Assignment Options:
- Waverly Elementary: Full-time, immediate start through mid-February (possible extension). General education, some regional programs. AAC experience is a plus.
- Veterans Elementary: Full-time, mid-November to mid-February (possibly through end of year). Focus on early childhood.
- Deep Run Elementary: Full-time, mid-November through mid-February (may extend). Caseload primarily K–5.
- Split Assignment (Atholton/Phelps Luck): Full-time, split between two elementary schools, continuing through mid-February.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Maryland SLP license required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Experience in school settings strongly desired
- AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) experience appreciated for Waverly Elementary
- Must be available for 37.5 hours per week onsite
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Open to Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services as per IEP requirements
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and document progress
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Participate in meetings with educators and families to support student outcomes
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and district standards
