Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Hemet, CA
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a collaborative school environment for the start of the 2026 academic year. This position is dedicated to providing speech-language services for three medically fragile classrooms, working alongside an experienced SLP and SLPA. The assignment is initially to cover a staff member’s leave, beginning August 10, 2026, through December 2026—with the possibility (not guaranteed) of extension for the remainder of the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Active CA licensure and certification (SLP-CCC required for SLPs; state certification required for SLPAs)
- Previous school-based experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices is essential
- Open to both experienced Speech-Language Pathologists and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants
- Proven ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary educational setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to students with moderate to severe needs, primarily those who are medically fragile
- Develop and implement treatment plans focusing on communication and functional goals
- Thoroughly document progress and complete required reports
- Consult with teachers, support staff, and families to enhance student communication
- Participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Model and support AAC device use
You’ll benefit from a consistent weekday schedule of 32.5–35 hours weekly. For SLPAs, the hourly compensation is $81.90. For SLPs, hourly rates range from $95–98.
