Speech Therapist in Hartford, CT
This full-time contract position offers an excellent opportunity for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services within elementary schools in Hartford, CT. The role begins as soon as possible and runs through June 9, 2026, with two openings available. Work will be split between two elementary schools with specific sites to be determined. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:45 AM to 3:45 PM, totaling 35 onsite hours per week.
Responsibilities include delivering speech and language support to a diverse student population within inclusive settings. While there are no specialized classrooms, students represent various disability categories. Candidates must provide direct therapy and collaborate with staff and families to facilitate communication development and success in the school environment.
Key qualifications and experience include:
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred; consideration given to Clinical Fellows (CF)
- School-based SLP experience required
- Active Speech-Language Pathology license in Connecticut
- Ability to obtain district fingerprints and complete background checks
- Strong communication and organizational skills
This position does not accept Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs). Interviews will be conducted via Zoom. Candidates with upfront licenses and prior documentation in the system are given preference.
