School Speech Language Pathologist - Gurnee, Illinois
Make a difference in the lives of young learners as a contracted Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC), supporting children from kindergarten through fifth grade in a resource-based educational environment. This rewarding position offers the opportunity to work closely with a manageable caseload of 25-30 students near the Gurnee, IL area, helping them reach their communication and academic goals.
Your school day will follow a consistent schedule—Monday through Friday, 8:25am to 4:00pm—totaling 35.5 hours per week. Your journey will begin August 17, 2026, and continue through May 28, 2027. New staff training details are still being finalized, ensuring you’ll have the guidance you need for a smooth start.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Eligibility for SLP licensure in Illinois
- Previous experience working with elementary school-aged students preferred
- Strong organization, collaboration, and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy services to K-5 students with IEPs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, resource staff, and families to support student progress
- Complete evaluations and document services in compliance with district and state requirements
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and IEP conferences
