Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Gretna, LA

Step into a vital role making a direct impact on elementary students by supporting their communication needs. We are seeking a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide full-time, onsite coverage during a maternity leave between mid-September and late November. You'll work with a diverse caseload of approximately 50-60 students at the elementary level, collaborating with educators and staff to help students achieve their goals.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid CCC-SLP credentials (open to Clinical Fellows eager to develop their skills)
- Experience or interest in a school-based setting
- Familiarity with IEP development and documentation
- Passion for advocating for and empowering young learners
- Ability to work exclusively onsite and interact effectively with students ages PK–5
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy to students with varying needs
- Conduct assessments, create progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with teaching staff and families to support student development
- Develop individualized treatment plans to address each student's communication goals
- Maintain accurate student records per district and state guidelines
- Utilize evidence-based practices to maximize student growth during the assignment
