School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Gretna, Louisiana
Make a difference this fall by stepping into a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist role on a contract basis, supporting students' communication growth during a maternity leave. This position spans September 14th through November 30th and offers the chance to build strong connections with a diverse caseload in an engaging, collaborative educational setting.
Your work will focus on Schaumberg Elementary, providing direct onsite services for a caseload of 50–60 students. The role is designed for a full-time professional, with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Both experienced SLPs (CCC) and Clinical Fellows are encouraged to apply, making this a welcoming environment for both seasoned and early-career professionals.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Active state license and required state certifications for practicing in schools
- SLP-CCC strongly preferred (open to strong CF candidates)
- Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric caseloads is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills to manage caseload and documentation efficiently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with students, staff, and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct assessment, intervention, and therapy for speech and language needs
- Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals and objectives
- Maintain regular communication with families and educational teams regarding student progress
- Complete documentation and reports as required by school guidelines
- Adhere to school hours and district policies as an onsite presence throughout the assignment
