Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as an onsite Speech-Language Pathologist in Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit areas. This role focuses on delivering exceptional speech and language therapy to students with diverse needs, working closely with dedicated educators and families.
Ideal candidates hold SLP-CCC credentials, but strong CFYs may be considered, especially if a supervisor is already established. Applicants should be comfortable working onsite and engaging with urban student populations. New state license applicants are welcome if documentation of application and pending status is provided. Assignments run from August 17 to June 11, for 35 hours per week, and up to two openings are available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group speech and language therapy services tailored to students’ unique communication needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to support speech and language development in everyday instruction
- Create and monitor annual goals and short-term objectives for IEPs, and participate in MET meetings
- Maintain accurate, compliant records and progress reports
- Contribute expertise in team settings to help identify students needing further evaluations
- Provide professional development and in-service training to staff on language development and SLP best practices
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations and prepare comprehensive reports on communication and oral motor disorders
- Offer training and ongoing support on AAC systems for students, educators, and families
- Manage therapy materials, equipment, and supplies to support service delivery
- Travel between assigned schools as required
