School Speech Language Pathologist - Flint, MI
Make a real difference as an onsite Speech-Language Pathologist working with K-12 students for the 2026-2027 school year. This engaging position offers an opportunity to help students across a variety of grade levels in dynamic educational settings. Assignments span from August through June, providing meaningful support to students while collaborating with educators and families to maximize communication and language development.
The position requires providing direct therapy (both one-on-one and in groups), contributing to IEP and MET teams, and guiding teachers and families on strategies to foster speech and language skills throughout students’ daily experiences. You’ll serve schools across exciting communities with diverse student populations, and be supported by collaborative education teams. While SLPs with their CCC are preferred, strong and motivated CFYs are also encouraged to apply. Supervisors for Clinical Fellows are desired, especially those already established.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, official transcripts required upon presentation.
- Active or pending Michigan SLP licensure (proof of application and pending status is acceptable).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; CFYs considered with mentorship established.
- School-based experience is highly valued.
- Familiarity with urban populations, as you may be asked about providing meaningful resources and support for children facing unique challenges.
- Willingness to travel between school buildings within the assignment area.
- Comfortable providing onsite services.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with teachers, administrators, students, and families.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy and conduct speech-language evaluations for K-12 students.
- Write progress notes, maintain accurate records, and generate evaluations and reports.
- Participate in IEP/MET meetings and contribute to individualized education planning.
- Offer professional development to school staff.
- Support students using AAC.
