Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist - Glendale, CA
Step into a vital role supporting elementary students with communication needs in a contract opportunity near Glendale, CA. Work within a dedicated team, providing speech-language services to a diverse group of over 60 students primarily in mild to moderate SDC (Special Day Classes). You'll benefit from two days of SLPA support weekly, allowing you to focus on assessment, intervention, and collaboration across three SDC classrooms.
As a speech-language pathologist in this setting, you'll leverage your expertise in teletherapy, pediatric care, and educational environments. Strong candidates will possess their SLP-CCC credential, but CFY applicants with relevant school-based or pediatric experience are encouraged to apply. Utilize your skills to help young learners make meaningful progress in their communication and academic goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid SLP-CCC or eligibility for SLP-CFY
- California licensure (or ability to obtain)
- Experience in school-based settings, with emphasis on pediatrics preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes and individualized speech-language interventions
- Comfort with teletherapy platforms and digital documentation
- Compassionate, strength-based approach for working with mild/moderate needs
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative speech/language services to students in three SDC classes
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment plans for a caseload of 60+ elementary-aged students
- Collaborate with educators, families, and SLPA support
- Conduct evaluations, write reports, and participate in IEP meetings
- Utilize two days of SLPA support to maximize service delivery
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation aligned with school/district standards
This contract position offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $50 to $60, based on qualifications and experience.
