Passionate about making a difference in students’ lives through speech and language therapy? This contract opportunity is perfect for dedicated Speech and Language Pathologists seeking hands-on experience in rural educational settings. Three openings are available for the upcoming school year—including placements supporting students with varying needs from preschool through eighth grade.

Available Roles:

  • Rural SLP engaging with students across multiple school sites (TK-8th grade, travel required)
  • Preschool SLP providing targeted therapy at a dedicated campus (ages 3-5)

As part of a collaborative Special Education team—which includes fellow SLPs and an SLPA—you’ll manage a caseload of 35-45 students and play a vital role in student progress and development. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • California SLP license and relevant certifications
  • Experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary SPED team
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus
  • Reliable transportation for travel between rural school sites (for rural SLP role)
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and implement individualized treatment for speech, language, and communication disorders
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and school staff
  • Document interventions, progress, and maintain records compliant with school and district guidelines
  • Deliver engaging therapy for students on caseload, adjusting methods for diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to inform educational planning
  • Option to extend into summer services (ESY) as needed
