Job Description
A school district in Fairfield, California is seeking a qualified Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full‑time, school‑based contract. This position serves K–12 students and focuses on providing speech and language services to support communication, academic success, and social development. Responsibilities
- Provide speech‑language therapy services to students in individual and group settings
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders
- Develop, implement, and manage IEP goals and services
- Conduct evaluations and re‑evaluations in compliance with district and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
- Provide consultation and training to staff regarding communication strategies and interventions
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and service logs
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Support student access to curriculum and communication development
Qualifications
- Active California Speech‑Language Pathologist license required
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) preferred
- Clinical Fellows (CFs) may be considered based on district needs
- Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances
- Licensing and credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates
Education
- Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology or a related field
Experience
- Previous school‑based or pediatric experience preferred
- Experience managing caseloads and supporting IEP compliance preferred
- Clinical Fellows (CFs) with appropriate supervision eligibility are encouraged to apply
Skills
- Strong knowledge of speech‑language therapy practices in educational settings
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to supporting diverse student populations
Work Hours
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Approximately 37–40 hours per week
