Speech Language Pathologist in Elizabeth, NJ

This assignment features a diverse caseload—including 35 students seen individually and more anticipated as Early Intervention services grow. Your expertise with augmentative communication devices will be an asset as you evaluate, treat, and collaborate during IEP meetings. The position is covering a MAT LOA through November, with the potential to extend further.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Active and current state certifications for Speech-Language Pathology (all certifications a must—no exceptions)
- Up-to-date fingerprint clearance before beginning assignment
- Experience in a school setting providing direct therapy
- Proficiency with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices preferred
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive speech/language evaluations and implement effective treatment plans
- Experience attending and contributing to IEP meetings
- Strong documentation and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy to a caseload of individual students
- Evaluate, monitor progress, and adjust intervention plans as needed
- Conduct thorough assessments, write reports, and communicate findings to families and educational staff
- Collaborate on multidisciplinary teams for IEP planning and review
- Support integration of AAC devices and strategies within student programs
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
