Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students near Bloomfield, NJ as a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist. This critical role covers a maternity leave through November (with possible extension), collaborating with a diverse K-12 caseload. Your impact will be immediate and lasting, as you'll work with approximately 35 students individually, with additional Early Intervention students anticipated.
A strong background with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices is especially valuable, as the school community embraces a range of communication needs. You’ll conduct assessments, deliver evidence-based interventions, and participate in IEP meetings, fostering each student’s progress in communicative abilities.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold all required certifications for school-based SLP roles—absolutely required to move forward
- Valid fingerprint clearance on file
- Previous school-based or pediatric SLP experience
- Skilled in evaluating and treating a variety of speech and language disorders
- Background in Early Intervention and familiarity with AAC devices preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to collaborative team environments and diverse student populations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual therapy to a dynamic caseload of students
- Complete comprehensive speech/language evaluations
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and help create tailored goals
- Develop and implement communication strategies, including AAC when appropriate
- Liaise with teachers, families, and school teams to support student success
- Maintain accurate documentation as required by district and state guidelines
