Ideal candidates bring the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship (CF) from ASHA
- Experience or interest in working with pediatric populations in a school environment
- Strong assessment, intervention, and progress monitoring skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting screenings and comprehensive assessments for students referred for speech and language concerns
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans in collaboration with teachers and support staff
- Delivering direct and consultative speech-language therapy services to students, either one-on-one or in groups
- Documenting progress, maintaining accurate records, and preparing necessary reports
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to the educational team’s efforts
- Providing strategies and support for teachers, caregivers, and students to generalize communication skills across settings
