Pediatric School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Dover, Delaware
Make a meaningful difference as a Speech and Language Pathologist, supporting elementary-aged students to achieve their communication goals for the 2022-2023 school year. Located near Dover, DE, this contract opportunity calls for someone with a strong passion for pediatric speech-language services and a genuine desire to help children thrive. You'll be working with a caseload of about 55 students, collaborating closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Delaware State SLP license required
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; strong CFY candidates will also be considered
- Background in pediatric speech-language pathology, specifically schools, articulation/phonology, abnormal voice, fluency, and language
- Experience interpreting and implementing IEPs
- Outstanding communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct eligibility assessments in areas such as articulation, voice, fluency, and language
- Review and update IEPs annually; participate in initial and re-evaluations
- Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions according to students’ needs
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop strategies and accommodations for communicative challenges in the classroom and at home
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation of session notes, progress, and compliance
- Provide supervision and support as required
