Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist serving several supportive schools in the Lapeer area. Enjoy a cohesive schedule—each day is dedicated to one of four nearby school sites, eliminating the need for constant travel between locations. You'll provide essential speech services to approximately 10 students per site, working primarily with students in general education who have speech and language needs, as well as those with mild cognitive challenges and students on the autism spectrum. This is an onsite position, offering rewarding in-person interactions and collaboration.
Ideal Experience and Qualifications:
- Active SLP license in Michigan and CCC-SLP certification
- Previous experience supporting speech-language needs in K-12 school settings
- Familiarity with IEP planning, progress monitoring, and student documentation
- Ability to tailor services for students in both general education and those with mild/moderate educational challenges
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with staff, students, and families
- Efficient organizational skills to manage a varied caseload across different sites
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy to students according to individualized plans
- Conduct assessments, develop IEP goals, and maintain documentation
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to ensure student progress
- Participate in school-based meetings to contribute your expertise to multidisciplinary teams
