Speech and Language Pathologist in Grand Blanc, MI
Speech Language Pathologists are sought for onsite contract positions across schools in Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit, MI. Opportunities are available for licensed professionals as well as Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates holding temporary Michigan licenses. Candidates should be comfortable providing direct services onsite across K-12 settings and have a passion for supporting diverse student populations, including urban communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group speech and language therapy tailored to students’ communication needs.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to integrate speech-language development strategies into classroom activities.
- Develop and implement annual IEP goals and short-term objectives, actively participating in IEP and MET meetings.
- Maintain detailed records, progress reports, and documentation to meet district and regulatory standards.
- Facilitate referrals for additional speech-language services through teamwork with instructional and ancillary staff.
- Provide professional development and training to school personnel on language acquisition and best practice interventions.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and deliver written eligibility reports for students with suspected speech and language disorders.
- Support and train students using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, ensuring consistent use across school and home environments.
- Manage speech therapy equipment, materials, and supplies efficiently.
- Travel between assigned school sites within the district to provide required services.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current Michigan SLP license required; CFY candidates must hold a valid temporary license.
- For Flint assignments, preference is given to candidates with an established supervisor.
- University transcripts required for presentation to schools.
- Experience or strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by urban students and resource needs.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite across multiple school locations.
