Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Active state licensure and certification as required for school-based SLPs
- Experience working with children in elementary, middle, and/or high school settings
- Proficiency in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech and language disorders
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, families, and other support staff
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Flexibility to adapt therapy approaches for different age groups and needs
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and screenings for students referred for speech and language concerns across grade levels
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address student-specific goals
- Provide direct therapy services in individual and small group settings
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support each student’s progress
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute expertise to student support teams
- Educate staff and families about communication disorders and best strategies for support in the classroom
