School Speech Language Pathologist - Converse, TX
A rewarding opportunity awaits for a skilled Speech Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) with experience in assistive technology, ready to make a direct impact in a hybrid role. This unique contract position combines on-site expertise with thoughtful remote work, supporting both a student’s progress and the administrative essentials of special education evaluations.
This position begins as soon as possible and concludes in late May 2027, requiring a commitment of 20 hours per week. The majority of your work will be remote, handling administrative support and coordinating private school referrals, while 2 hours each week will be spent in-person at a local high school providing crucial assistive technology support. Your experience with eye-gaze technology—specifically using, calibrating, and maintaining Accent devices—will help drive student success and empower educational teams to make a difference.
Qualifications:
- Current Texas Speech Language Pathologist license (Texas Dept. of Licensing and Regulation)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Demonstrated expertise with assistive technology, particularly eye gaze and Accent devices
- Strong communication skills for parent interviews, team collaboration, and paperwork follow-ups
- Previous experience in school-based settings preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage hybrid responsibilities effectively
Primary Duties:
- Deliver onsite AT support, programming, and maintenance for one student (2 hours/week)
- Educate and guide the student’s educational team on device best practices
- Perform intake, paperwork handling, and follow-up for private school evaluation referrals
- Ensure timely processing of referrals and clear communication with all stakeholders
- Maintain documentation and track progress for assigned tasks
