Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Columbia, MD

This part-time role offers flexible scheduling (24-29 hours per week, with Wednesdays off) and the opportunity to work with students ages 8-21—primarily high schoolers—in an alternative school setting dedicated to supporting youth with special education needs and IEPs. This institution serves students navigating emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges and fosters growth through individualized approaches.
Your responsibilities will center on a manageable caseload of 25 students, providing speech and language therapy services that directly enhance communication skills and academic achievements. You'll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, develop tailored intervention plans, and play a crucial role in student progress. The current term begins as soon as possible and runs through 6/25/26, with the next school year spanning from 7/6/26 to 6/17/27, ensuring consistent and meaningful relationships with students over time.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid SLP licensure
- Experience or strong interest in serving students with IEPs and behavioral, emotional, or academic differences
- Ability to connect with students across grades 3–12, with a majority being in high school
- Competence in developing, implementing, and tracking individual therapy plans
- Willingness to collaborate within a dynamic team of educators, therapists, and support staff
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of an alternative school setting
