Speech Language Pathologist in Chico, CA
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for the upcoming 26/27 school year supporting students’ communication needs in Northern California. This position is ideal for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) interested in working 1-2 days per week, with flexible options that include both in-person service in the Oroville/Paradise area or a virtual engagement.
Serve up to two classrooms, collaborating with educational staff to make a significant impact. The setting fosters professional growth, supporting both experienced SLPs with their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) practitioners. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to supervise SLP Assistants (SLPAs), helping guide and develop emerging talent in the field.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state license or eligibility.
- CCC-SLP or CFY status welcomed.
- Prior experience in school settings strongly preferred.
- Passion for working with children and supporting diverse learner populations.
- Comfortable with, or open to, supervising SLPAs.
- Familiarity with IEPs, assessments, and evidence-based intervention strategies.
- Comfortable with technology platforms for virtual sessions (if applicable).
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech, language, and communication evaluations for students.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
- Support students in achieving IEP goals.
- Document progress and communicate with families and school teams.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for holistic student care.
- Supervise and mentor SLPAs as part of the role.
