Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and culturally responsive Bilingual (English/Spanish) Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students for the 2026–2027 school year. This role focuses on providing equitable, linguistically appropriate services to diverse student populations while supporting academic achievement, social communication, and post-secondary readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct culturally and linguistically appropriate speech, language, and communication evaluations in both English and Spanish
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines
- Provide direct and indirect therapy services in individual and group settings across middle and high school caseloads
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and families to support student outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation, service logs, and progress reports
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions, providing interpretation/translation as needed
- Support students with a variety of communication needs, including language disorders, articulation, social communication, fluency, and AAC
- Differentiate between language difference and disorder when working with bilingual students
- Utilize evidence-based and culturally responsive practices
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Illinois SLP license (or eligibility)
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with SLP endorsement (or ability to obtain)
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required
- CCC-SLP preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFs) encouraged to apply
- Previous school-based experience preferred, especially with diverse or bilingual populations
- Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills
