Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Chicago, Illinois

This part-time contract position focuses on maternity leave coverage from August 11, 2026, through November 6, 2026, providing meaningful support for students in grades 6 through 8 near Chicago, IL. As a valued SLP, your expertise will enrich the lives of approximately 40 students, shaping their academic and personal development during an important transition. Flexibility is built in, with a schedule of 24 hours per week, allowing for a well-rounded work-life balance throughout the contract period.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Speech/Language Pathologist PEL with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric speech therapy roles
- Comfortable working with middle schoolers (grades 6–8)
- Skilled in case management, IEP development, and data-driven interventions
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates and experienced SLPs are encouraged to apply
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative speech-language services in a school environment
- Assess and diagnose students’ communication needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for diverse caseloads
- Collaborate regularly with educators, support staff, and families to support student progress
- Document progress and maintain thorough records in compliance with state and district guidelines
