Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Chicago, IL
Step into a dynamic contract role supporting students' communication development in schools near Chicago, IL. This on-site opportunity offers the chance to collaborate with another Speech-Language Pathologist, serving early childhood through 8th-grade students. You will split a districtwide caseload of 70 students with a peer, ensuring balanced, manageable assignments for high-quality service delivery. The position runs from mid-August through the end of May, perfectly aligning with the academic calendar.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist credential from IDFPR
- ISBE number (required for consideration)
- Speech-Language Pathology Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC)
- Experience serving school-aged children in a K-8 setting
- Strong organizational skills for dividing and managing caseloads collaboratively
- Committed to on-site work only (remote/virtual services are not an option)
- Ability to adhere to union guidelines and school district policies
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language services to students identified on caseload
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
- Collaborate closely with a fellow SLP to ensure all student needs are met
- Maintain detailed documentation, progress reports, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Attend staff and IEP meetings as required
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
