Exciting contract opportunity available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to make a difference within a diverse student population. This role begins mid-August and extends through late May, offering the chance to help students from early childhood through eighth grade. You’ll join a supportive educational environment where collaboration and expertise are highly valued. The caseload is thoughtfully divided, ensuring a manageable workload shared with a fellow SLP.
Applicants must hold an active Illinois PEL and Speech-Language Pathology license through IDFPR, and must provide a valid ISBE number with their application. This is an strictly on-site position, serving approximately 70 students across the district, with the primary assignment split between two SLPs to allow focused attention on each student’s needs. Union guidelines apply, so candidates should anticipate the interview process taking place in May, with onboarding shortly after.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois PEL and active SLP license (IDFPR)
- Completed Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- School-based SLP experience strongly preferred
- ISBE number required for consideration
- Commitment to working onsite; remote work is not permitted
- Able to follow union policies and protocols
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop and implement effective IEPs and therapy plans
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other specialists
- Maintain detailed records and documentation as per compliance standards
- Serve students from early childhood through middle school
