Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Cass City, MI
Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting students’ communication and learning needs. Two speech-language pathologist roles are available, each offering a 185-day contract at seven hours per school day.
Position 1 focuses on delivering speech services in two Early Childhood Special Education classrooms. You'll begin with a manageable caseload of about 20 students, many of whom require significant support with communication, including the use of AAC, eventually serving up to 35 children as needs develop through the school year.
Position 2 centers on Early On evaluations and direct speech services for preschoolers. Expect to manage a caseload of approximately 20 students and take the lead in conducting Early On evaluations to identify and support areas of speech or language difficulty in this age group.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility for SLP-CFY (Clinical Fellowship Year).
- Experience or comfort working in pediatric and school-based settings.
- Familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) for Position 1 preferred.
- Strong assessment and evaluation skills, especially for Position 2.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored speech and language interventions as required by students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Conduct thorough evaluations and ongoing assessments.
- Maintain current documentation, track progress, and report to educational staff and families.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute expertise to support student success.
- Adapt strategies for a diverse population of early learners with a variety of speech and language needs.
