This contract role involves working closely with children ages 2-5, providing comprehensive speech and language services in early intervention settings. Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in early childhood students.
- Develop and carry out Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Deliver direct therapy to students through individual, small group, or classroom-integrated sessions.
- Consult with teachers, parents, and support staff to integrate communication goals into daily activities.
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining precise records in line with federal, state, and district policies.
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, eligibility assessments, and transition conferences.
- Support inclusive early intervention and preschool special education programs.
- Stay informed on best practices and compliance in speech-language pathology and early childhood education through professional development.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure/certification (ASHA CCC-SLP or CFY eligible; appropriate state certification as required).
- Experience with preschool-aged children in public schools or early intervention, preferred.
- Strong foundation in child development, early literacy, play-based learning, and AAC.
- Outstanding communication, collaboration, and organizational strengths.
- Experience with diverse student populations and an understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and special education processes considered an asset.
