About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality virtual instruction and support services to students across Vermont. This fully remote, 1099 contract opportunity offers flexibility and the chance to make a meaningful impact while supporting student learning and success from anywhere.
The ideal candidate is experienced in virtual instruction, student-centered, and comfortable collaborating with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to support individualized educational needs.
Responsibilities
Provide virtual special education instruction and support to students in Vermont
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and families
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
Provide academic and behavioral support aligned with student goals
Ensure compliance with state and district guidelines
Qualifications
Active Vermont Special Education Teaching license/certification required
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field required
Previous school-based special education experience preferred
Virtual teaching or telepractice experience is a plus
Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
Reliable internet connection and secure home workspace
