This position centers on providing speech and language interventions for a diverse caseload of elementary students. You’ll play an integral role in their educational journeys—helping students enhance communication abilities, fostering greater engagement in learning, and facilitating meaningful participation in the school community. Expertise with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices will be especially valued, as you'll have the chance to implement innovative solutions and individualized supports for students who benefit from alternative communication methods.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an SLP.
- Previous work with school-age children, particularly at the elementary level, is highly desirable.
- Comfortable and skilled in assessing and treating students with significant speech and language needs.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn about AAC devices and related technology.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to students’ unique needs.
- Work one-on-one and in small group settings to support language development and communication skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure holistic support for each student.
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, documenting progress and setting goals.
- Provide training and resources for school staff and families on AAC device use.
