Pediatric Elementary School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Birmingham, Alabama

Make a genuine impact on the lives of students as a Speech-Language Pathologist working with an energetic school community near Birmingham, AL. In this full-time contract position for the 2026–2027 school year, you’ll play a key role in supporting K–12 students’ communication and developmental needs. Caseloads are thoughtfully assigned and tailored to your background and preferences, with opportunities to work with moderate to profound student needs. Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure (or eligibility) as an SLP
- Prior experience in pediatric or school-based settings preferred
- Familiarity with a range of communication disorders in early childhood and elementary-aged populations
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with colleagues, families, and students
- Ability to adapt to various caseload types and learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate the speech and language needs of diverse K–12 students
- Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) aligned with each student’s unique goals
- Provide direct and consultative SLP services tailored to individual and group needs
- Work closely with special education staff, teachers, and administration to maximize student success
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation for student progress and compliance
- Engage families through regular communication and support
