Empower students with your expertise by supporting communication development throughout a variety of school settings in the Birmingham area! Contracted Speech-Language Pathologists are needed for the upcoming school year, serving diverse caseloads across several local campuses. Work onsite as part of a collaborative, student-centered team to make a meaningful impact in both early learning and upper-grade programs.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current SLP Certification in Alabama and SLP Educator Certificate (required)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship (CF)
- Experience in school-based settings highly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently with students, staff, and families
- Willingness to travel between multiple school sites
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver diagnostic and therapy services to a caseload of approximately 60 students, ranging from preschool to high school
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to support student progress
- Complete assessments, progress reports, and required documentation adhering to district and state guidelines
- Attend IEP meetings and provide professional recommendations
- Maintain compliance with all district and state requirements, including background clearances
