This full-time, onsite contract speech-language pathology opportunity runs from August 2026 through May 2027, serving preschool, elementary, middle, and high school students in multiple school settings. You’ll collaborate with caring educational teams across several school sites and enjoy working with a diverse caseload of about 60 students.
Qualifications & Experience
- Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship
- SLP certification and SLP Educator certification in Alabama, with completed fingerprinting as required by the state
- Previous school-based experience, or a strong interest in supporting students within educational environments
- Thorough understanding of evidence-based speech and language therapy practices for children and adolescents
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and maximizing each student’s potential
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Deliver individual and group speech-language therapy services to students ages preschool through high school
- Conduct speech and language assessments, develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and school support personnel to create a positive learning experience
- Maintain detailed documentation of sessions, progress, and treatment outcomes
- Provide input for IEP meetings and assist with goal setting and tracking
- Travel between assigned schools as necessary
