Position Overview
The Aurora School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide comprehensive speech and language services to a K–12 student population. This role involves supporting students with a variety of communication disorders while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success in the educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in individual and small group settings
- Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, voice, fluency, and pragmatic communication disorders
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Manage a caseload of approximately 25–45 students, ensuring high-quality, individualized services
- Conduct formal and informal assessments and write comprehensive evaluation reports
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, psychologists, and families to support student progress
- Provide consultation and training to staff regarding communication strategies and accommodations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress reports and service logs
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development opportunities
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Certification
- Active Colorado Speech-Language Pathologist License
- Eligibility for or possession of ASHA CCC-SLP (CFs encouraged to apply if requirements are met)
- Knowledge of IEP processes, IDEA compliance, and school-based service delivery
