This contract position serves three conveniently located schools, all within a three-mile radius, catering to a small school district with fewer than 1,000 students. The role spans the full 2023-2024 school year, from August 8 to May 23, with a Monday through Friday onsite schedule (40 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive speech-language therapy services to a caseload of approximately 60 PK-12th grade students.
- Address a broad spectrum of therapy needs with mild to moderate disabilities.
- Provide both direct services and case management for students.
- Maintain documentation and communicate effectively with staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Stay current on best practices and continuing education for speech-language therapy in schools.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Speech and Communicative Disorders.
- Valid Alabama SLP license and Teaching Certificate for SLPs, or eligibility to obtain.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred, but Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates will be considered.
- Previous school-based experience is an advantage, though not required.
- Comfort handling a diverse range of therapy needs and providing care across PK-12th grade.
- Applicants with out-of-state licensure may be eligible if requirements for Alabama certification are met.
- Open to two part-time clinicians who together fulfill position needs.
