Step into a vital role supporting early learners by providing expert speech-language services within a vibrant and nurturing school community. This contract position offers an opportunity to work onsite as a long-term substitute for an Early Childhood SLP, delivering essential support to preschool-aged children as part of the ECSE (Early Childhood Special Education) program, serving ages 3 to 5. The assignment is set to run from early September through the end of November, covering a 12-week period.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Minnesota Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license is required
  • Demonstrated experience in school-based or pediatric settings, with a focus on early childhood speech services
  • Knowledge of assessment tools, intervention planning, and IEP development for young children
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling positive partnerships with educators, families, and related service providers
  • Ability to maintain organized documentation and adapt to a dynamic caseload environment

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services to children in the ECSE 3-5 program, following student IEPs and district guidelines
  • Conduct assessments, participate in evaluation teams, and contribute to eligibility determinations
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and parents for cohesive, child-centered care
  • Document student progress, attend multidisciplinary meetings, and support transition planning as needed
  • Manage a manageable caseload, focusing on impactful, individualized interventions

Position Details:

  • Contract position: Onsite coverage for approximately 12 weeks
  • Schedule: 22.5 hours per week, spread over three days (Monday through Friday)
  • Location: Blaine, MN within an early childhood educational setting
