Speech Language Pathologist in Springfield, MA
Empower students to gain independence and succeed in an innovative high school program designed for those with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other learning differences. This contract opportunity calls for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) with experience supporting students who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), though formal AAC evaluation experience is not required. The successful candidate will provide services for the Compass High Program—a highly specialized environment dedicated to building life skills, communication, and self-advocacy in a supportive, personalized setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or equivalent
- Active license and certification as SLP-CCC, meeting all state-specific guidelines
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting, preferably high school
- Familiarity with AAC services for students with ASD or significant learning differences
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Compassionate, creative, and flexible approach to individualized instruction
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted speech and language therapy for high school students in a specialized program
- Support students using AAC devices, collaborating with educators to integrate communication into daily routines and academic tasks
- Contribute to IEP meetings and maintain thorough documentation of progress aligned with student goals
- Partner closely with families, support staff, and program leaders to create a cohesive support system
- Foster a nurturing and respectful environment that champions every learner’s potential
This contract runs from July 6, 2026, through August 7, 2026, with 15–20 hours per week across 2–3 days. Those who excel may be considered for opportunities in the following school year.
