In this engaging contract opportunity, you’ll provide essential speech-language pathology services to elementary students in a vibrant school environment located near Aberdeen, MD. As a valued team member, you will work full-time during the elementary school day from 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM, delivering support that helps young learners find their voices and achieve their communication goals.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
- Active state licensure or eligibility to obtain certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Experience supporting pediatric or elementary-aged populations in a school setting strongly preferred
- Ability to organize and manage a caseload of 55 student contacts per week
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and caregivers
- Commitment to evidence-based practices and ongoing professional development
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough screenings, evaluations, and diagnostic assessments for students referred for speech and language services
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and deliver targeted therapy sessions designed to address each student’s specific speech-language needs
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to integrate therapy goals across settings
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required documentation in compliance with school and federal guidelines
- Monitor and report student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure positive outcomes
- Facilitate inclusive practices and contribute to a supportive learning atmosphere for all students
