Skilled Nursing Facility Speech Language Pathology Assistant - Woodbridge, Virginia
Step into a rewarding position as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant for the 2025-2026 school year, serving students from PreK through 12th grade in an engaging, itinerant role. With a schedule that runs Monday through Friday, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact, supporting licensed Speech-Language Pathologists by implementing customized interventions and providing hands-on help across multiple locations.
Key Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Speech, Language and Hearing or Communication Disorders
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a school setting is a plus
- Background or training in language and/or articulation therapy preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaboration
- Excellent communication abilities, including active listening and two-way feedback
- Adaptability and a positive, professional attitude
What You’ll Do:
- Provide direct support to SLPs by delivering individualized speech therapy interventions
- Gather and document case histories, complete observational checklists, and score assessments
- Assist in administering and scoring progress monitoring as directed
- Help with student assessments and collaborate with parents, teachers, and outside professionals
- Attend IEP conferences, parent meetings, and in-service events to report on student progress
- Prepare documentation as needed for evaluations, IEPs, and communication with stakeholders
- Support the transportation of students to and from testing or therapy sessions
This full-time, in-person contract offers a minimum of 40 hours per week, starting August 13th through May 21st. Compensation starts at $33 per hour, commensurate with experience and credentials.
