Skilled Nursing Facility Speech Language Pathology Assistant - King George, Virginia
Step into a rewarding role where you’ll make a meaningful impact as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant during the 2025–2026 school year. You’ll collaborate closely with a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver individualized interventions for students across PreK–12th grade, helping them achieve their communication goals and thrive in a supportive learning environment. This full-time, in-person contract is set in an itinerant model, providing dynamic experiences as you work with diverse student populations at multiple locations.
Key Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language and Hearing, or Communication Disorders
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a school setting preferred
- Training or experience in language and/or articulation therapy is a plus
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Positive, collaborative attitude, and a willingness to learn new strategies
- Ability to work effectively across student age groups and with teams of educators, therapists, and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of student-specific speech and language programs designed by the supervising SLP
- Gather case histories, conduct observations, and assist in assessment administration and scoring
- Engage in progress monitoring and data collection under SLP direction
- Prepare documents for evaluations, IEPs, and progress reports
- Participate in IEP and parent meetings to provide insight into students’ functional goals
- Facilitate communication between therapists, educators, parents, and external professionals
- Assist with transporting students to therapy sessions or evaluation sites as needed
